Dear Reader...
There seems to be moments in our lives; that no matter what we do right, it always seems to go wrong. We are fighting battles with the evil one and Satan is good at using decoys to come against us and the good we do for Christ. Tonight as I was opening up my study Bible; God began to open up some powerful verses to me, which are found in I Peter 3:16-18, and they read..."Do what is right; then if men speak against you, calling you evil names, they will become ashamed of themselves for falsely accusing you when you have only done what is good. Remember, if God wants you to suffer, it is better to suffer for doing good than for doing wrong. Christ also suffered. He died once for the sins of all us guilty sinners, although he himself was innocent of any sin at any time, that he might bring us safely home to God."
Even as a Christian it can be so easy to want to fight back, when someone has done something against us but these verses are saying that more can be accomplished when we repay wrong with something good. Something begins to happen to a person's conscious, when they realize that what they did wrong to a person has had no affect on them. They begin to think twice on what they did wrong, as they begin to feel ashamed for what they did.
Another good thought to think on, is that if God wants us to suffer for something that has been wrongly done to us, then it's better for it to happen that way, then to suffer for something we have actually done wrong. Christ became the first example of this, when He died a sinless death. Even though Jesus had done no wrong; they still accused Him and these accusations lead Him to the death of the cross but even though He died a sinless death; many eyes were opened, to who He really was.
We may have people in our lives who have treated us wrong, for no reason at all but we must remember that nothing is going to be gained by fighting back because fighting back will only make matters worse. We may feel that injustice has been done to us and that we didn't deserve what was said or done to us but when we can handle the situation in a good way, even when false accusations have been brought against us, then we never know how these moments may affect the other person; to a place where they may discover Jesus in their lives.
Moments of injustice can be hard to take at times but when we know the truth and God knows the truth, then that's all that should matter. We never know when a moment of injustice may lead a person out of the clutches of evil and into the hands of God. May we always look for God's desires; that He may continue to reign as an undefeated God. May you find God's very best for your lives each day! See you tomorrow!
